The St. Augustine Yacht Club is a non-profit yachting and social club located below the Lighthouse on Anastasia Island in St. Augustine, Florida. The clubhouse, on the shore of Salt Run, is only minutes away from the convenience and beauty of historical downtown St. Augustine. The waterfront setting in Lighthouse Park offers beautiful views of the inlet and the Conch Island dunes.
The St. Augustine social scene would not be complete without the yacht club. Major events, such as the Blessing of the Fleet in the spring, and the Annual Regatta of Lights in December, are highlights of each year. A number of less formal events includes cruises on local ships such as Freedom, (a schooner replica), and Victory 3 (a large motorized vessel), as well as our weekly Friday night socials, which provide continuing entertainment and socializing opportunities.
Sailing and powerboating activities are a major focus of the St. Augustine Yacht Club. The rich history of the club since its initial formation in 1873, making it Florida’s oldest yacht club, is evident in our clubhouse overlooking Salt Run close to the historic St. Augustine Lighthouse. The ambiance of our Burgee Lounge, combined with spectacular waterviews, makes a visit to the Club a memorable occasion every time!
The club sponsors a number of boating and social activities, including regular Wednesday night sailboat races which run from February through November. In addition, several offshore regattas, often in conjunction with other nearby yacht clubs and sailing fleets, are conducted throughout the year. There are also a number of power boat raftups and beach parties conducted on a regular basis.
Through Yachting Club of America, our members have reciprocal privileges with over seven hundred yacht clubs throughout the country, including Hawaii, The Virgin Islands, and Alaska.
